[SB Nation: Bleed Cubbie Blue] - The Cubs losses will continue until morale improves

The Cubs sit at 34-34 so far in 2026, but the way they’ve gotten to that .500 record is anything but average. While it seems hard to believe here in June, yes, it was 2026 when the Cubs were putting together multiple 10 game winning streaks, not to mention a 15-game home winning streak that […]

[Just Baseball] - The Cubs Need Dansby Swanson To Turn Things Around

On a Chicago Cubs team that is riding a stretch of seven wins over their last 28 games, plenty has gone wrong.
[Bleacher Nation] - Dansby Swanson’s Still Got the Glove

Time for the team and your dream garage to be built. This article is brought to you by , Chicago's #1 Garage Builder. With over 100,000 garages built since 1959, Danley's is here to help you build the garage of your dreams. Call 877-DANLEYS today! It’s only the fourth inning, but Dansby Swanson has already made two really nice defensive plays in this game. Which is good because that’s pretty much the extent of the value he’s adding to this team right now. The second play, which got Imanaga out of the fourth inning, was particularly impressive. Check it out: a dansby diving play for your viewing pleasure. 😌 — Chicago Cubs (@Cubs) That’s a great diving stop, but an even better finish to that play. Good stuff, Dansby. Now get a freakin’ hit.

[Bleacher Nation] - Enhanced Box Score: Rockies 3, Cubs 2 – June 10, 2026

Good. I’m glad they lost that game. They had no business winning it. You don’t get to win games at Coors Field with one or two runs. And to that end … HOW IN THE WORLD do you go into the most hitter-friendly ballpark in baseball to face a guy who makes every single lefty look like the greatest hitter of his generation (and has an ERA north of 8.00) with five lefties in your lineup … and leave with two runs, one of which came on an RBI groundout in the fourth inning. How. How can you possibly be that bad at baseball. You’ll notice no question marks, because I’m not really asking. I don’t even care. And that may be the worst part of this ridiculous and miserable season. Even after Ian Happ tied the game in the top of the ninth inning, I felt little joy and exactly zero of the “fun” stress you get near the end of tight games. It never felt like they were going to win, and they didn’t. And they didn’t deserve it, either. The damage being done right now, the hole they’re digging. It’s … unimaginable. The fact that it was Jacob Webb, who’s been great, and Daniel Palencia, who is our closer, blowing this one is just an extra little stinger on top of this crap sundae. Seriously. The Rockies are a HORRIBLE team. But tonight, the night the White Sox took two of three from the Atlanta Braves to move into sole possession of first place in the AL Central, the Chicago Cubs lost their fourth series in a row, moved down to .500, and have now gone TEN STRAIGHT SERIES without a series win. Ten. Straight. This is beyond embarrassing; they’re beyond broken. The fight is gone. Seiya Suzuki can’t hit a beach ball. Nico Hoerner has lost the ability to spray the ball all over or come through the way he used to. The injuries are still piling up and lingering on. And this was the EASY STRETCH in the schedule. The part of the year that was supposed to give us hope, even if it was false hope. Instead, we get this. Whatever it is. Horrible. More tomorrow, because tonight? Tonight, we are a … .

[Bleacher Nation] - Back to Even, Another Series Loss, Mental Grinding, and Other Cubs Bullets

Those two ten-game winning streaks are really gonna mess up the Cubs’ draft lottery odds … Good morning, and time for everyone’s favorite game! With another series loss officially locked in, the Chicago Cubs will now go AT LEAST five and a half weeks between series wins!!! WOOP WOOP!!! The Cubs are back to .500 for the first time since they were 9-9 on April 15. They are 7-22 since May 9. I’m gonna start today with the two pitchers who “lost” the game last night, Jacob Webb and Daniel Palencia. These are two of the Cubs’ most effective relievers this year, who’ve been great, who will be great, and who committed the grave offense of allowing some runs at Coors freaking Field. In other words, I feel NOTHING about their night. They’re fine. Blameless, even. … because the only reason they’re even being mentioned at all is because the Cubs offense scored TWO RUNS at Coors Field against some of the worst pitching they’ll face this year. The Cubs mustered just five hits in the game. Went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. Hit the ball hard less than a quarter of the time. Had an expected team batting average in the game of just .155. They struck out 11 times. It was a wretched performance in almost any ballpark against almost any pitching staff, but this park? And these pitchers? It’s an absolute farce to lose a game at Coors when your pitching holds the Rockies to three runs, but, outside a couple guys, that’s what the Cubs’ offense has been for a good long while. A total farce. Over the last month, Cubs hitters have made 66 outs on pitches in the heart of the zone while ahead in the count. Roughly 3 outs per game on opportunity pitches. See for yourself—here’s video of every one. (Heart = pitch fully inside the strike zone, per Statcast/Savant) — Brendan Miller (@brendan_cubs) Cubs batters when someone is in scoring position. — Brett Taylor (@Brett_A_Taylor) The Cubs’ bats also wasted a nice bounce-back outing from Shota Imanaga, at a place where it’s really hard to do that. Ian Happ, one of the few guys hitting, : “Offense is contagious in both ways. You guys have seen this offense rolling, scoring eight to 10 runs a game for a week or two weeks at a time. And when that’s going, everybody feels like they’re going to get a hit with runners in scoring position, and it just keeps compounding. When it’s not, the hardest part is getting out of your own way and just letting things happen, trusting your process. When you’re struggling and going through it, it’s challenging mentally, it’s a challenge on everybody individually. The hardest part is that everybody wants to help, everybody wants to help this group and everybody wants to win ballgames. Everybody looking within and trying to find out how they can do that, that’s the part, the pressure part of it, the thing that makes it so mentally grinding.” Down at Iowa, the I-Cubs had to use a position player to pitch for the third time in their last nine games. They’ve been getting lit up, which isn’t too much of a surprise: their pitching staff has been ravaged by the combined impact of loads of big league injuries that pull up from their ranks, and a cascade of injuries of their own. It doesn’t help that guys like MLB-adjacent guys like Jordan Wicks and Luke Little are getting blown up on the regular. This is a good general point regarding swing metrics (not just about bat changes, but about the relationship between bat size and swing speed, optimizing for actual production): Jazz Chisholm's bat speed is down, oh no! Why? He started using Aaron Judge's bat, which is heavier. Something we don't consider with swing metrics… — The WARmonger (@TheWARmonger_) MORE CUBS FROM BLEACHER NATION: | Subscribe to the Hey!
