The whole point of preserving AD now and playing him at the four is that you can go full speed ahead with him at the five in the playoffs and put LA's best spacing lineups on the floor and those best suited to defend the elite guard play they're going to see. It'll be the norm.
Nearly all of the guys you mentioned were normal parts of the Boston rotation. A rusty, out-of-shape Boogie is not going to be some sort of revelation, moreover, and as I said, it beggars the imagination to think he's going to be better than any other option there.
@brosales12 Remember the Celtics in the Finals beat the Lakers in 2008 😢. PJ Brown and Sam Cassell has some moments in close games. Of course Powe had a crazy game(Caruso could be a guard version of that. Just hungry) Posey also. Seems like Lakers are similar except no true 3rd AllStar.
Aside from that being unrealistic (multiple severe injuries to same leg), I'd be shocked if he plays even if he could. Dwight's been incredibly good, JaVale is catching up, and they're going to go into AD-at-the-five overdrive. Spotting Boogie PT makes no sense there.
@brosales12 Hoping somehow we get Boogie for the playoffs. I know it’s a long shot and probably not a good thing for him, but if we had Boogie as an option to collect fouls and open up the floor for some spacing in small doses could be the little extra talent and confidence to the roster
It doesn't hurt. That's pretty much the bottom line. Keeps AD happy and there isn't exactly someone out there they could get by waiving Boogie who makes sense for the current situation. That and Boogie's $ in deals still valuable. But push comes to shove, they'll likely do it.
Boogie's here, yes, since Bron/AD like him but also since the right player (cough) Iggy (cough) hasn't become available that's more valuable than Boogie's salary ballast in potential deals. Doesn't have to be on the roster to be around the team and rehab in team facilities.
Boogie randomly being in these pictures remains super weird.
Really wide open. Super difficult to say what his ceiling is. He has the tool set, world is his oyster. That he can do this at his age means enormous variability in his development curve.

RT @espn_macmahon: Luka Doncic joined LeBron James as the only players in NBA history to score 40+ in triple-doubles as 20-year-olds. Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas and Oscar Robertson are the only players to put up such lines at age 21. The kid is consistently in historically elite company.
