My usual pilgrimage to the Carole King Grammys plaque outside Staples Center, which marked a milestone in the male-dominated music industry for women. First woman to sweep the top 3, first woman to wing Song of the Year, but Rock Hall voters wanna put others in ahead of her.
Finch talks about the importance of contesting shots tonight against a Clippers team that has consistently shot better than 42% from deep. He adds that a lot of that success is off drive and kicks so paint defense--a priority for past month or so--still a factor.
Here is @MedcalfByESPN with another essential read.
This is an incredibly crude stat but still eye-popping to me, especially as folks grouse about the "underrated" current MVP fave Jokic. In the 1743 minutes Rudy Gobert has been on the court, the Jazz are +550. In the 1008 minutes he has been off it they are -33.
We need better defensive metrics. By most any statistical measure, Naz Reid is superior to KAT at that end of the court in 2020-21. As someone who has seen every second that each of them has played this season, that's ridiculous.
This is so sad to hear. Lou was not only an institution when it came to Notre Dame football, he was one of the nicest, kindest guys you’ll ever meet. Damn.
Wrote a profile of Chris Finch for Sunday’s paper. Among those quoted: his high school coach, college coach, players who played for him in Belgium, Nick Nurse and Luol Deng.
