UNLV running back Charles Williams confirmed “100 percent” that he’ll be back next year under Marcus Arroyo. Williams ran for 1,257 yards and 11 TDs in 2019 and could have left UNLV as a grad transfer. “I feel like his offense is going to be a big boost for us,” Williams said.
There are boosters who contribute. UNLV basketball takes charter flights to all road games, for instance, and that’s thanks to boosters. But in terms of coaching hires, there are no smoke-filled rooms with powerful boosters pledging millions and pulling the strings.
Do not put it past Adam that he was sitting with Marlee Matlin at the time and having her read lips: "Its not you, it's me."
Breakup in progress at this Starbucks. Girl sobbing. Guy dismissive. Very uncomfortable. It's the middle of the day. Probably for the best.
It’s been a while since boosters had influence in UNLV coaching hires. Two basketball coaches and now a football coach without a peep from them. All bark, no bite. Or as a wise long-timer likes to tell me about Las Vegas, “Lot of millionaires in that town, few billionaires.”
