RT @dandalyonsports: Another cool Bobby stat: His top rushing game in Cleveland was 232 yards (vs. the #Redskins, coincidentally). His top receiving game in Washington was 218. You know how many #NFL players have had that big a rushing day *and* that big a receiving day? Answer: Only Bobby Mitchell.
Mitchell was a great player who also had to deal with a lot of nasty stuff in his day (George Preston Marshall forcing him to sing "Dixie" at Redskins training camp, for example). He always did so with dignity and toughness. RIP.
Oh, no. Mitchell's name came up in my orbit plenty in recent days upon our release of the DC area jersey number story. An all-time legend. #RIP
Probably RGIII’s best game as a passer. What a deep ball thrower
I want to say thank you to all of our subscribers. It’s a difficult and upsetting time for everyone. But know this: your support means everything to us. And even though there are no games, we’re going to keep delivering the kinds of stories you want to read at @TheAthleticDC.
Rivalry week in the RTD. Love all these stories but especially love today’s VCU-ODU story. Blaine Taylor at the Richmond Coliseum every year was a treat.
